Helen O’Connell and the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra
Yesterday, a reader commented on my post about Johnny Carson singing with The Rat Pack, and mentioned Helen O’Connell had done the same thing with Johnny at one point, with the song “Tangerine”.
I’ve hunted high, low, and sideways, and simply CANNOT find a clip of this anywhere! Sorry, Jerry!
What I did happen to find was a clip of her singing with the Jimmy (Yes, Jimmy, not Tommy, his well known brother) Dorsey Orchestra, “Man, That’s Groovy”.
As some of the commenters said on that video, I too didn’t think the word “Groovy” was used until the 60s!

Thank you so much for the effort. And thank you, too, for this gem a video that you did find. Groovy indeed!

I am a huge fan of Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and Helen O’Connell as well as the rest of the rat pack and others. the thing is I’m reaking my neck trying to find Helen O’Connell “rubber dolly” lyrics. Can anyone please suggest a website where I may find it?
Thank you.
