Hear, hear! Get your copy-protect-free music!

Fellow music channel b5 blog Our Digital Music reports: Its Official: DRM IS Dead. SonyBMG Drops “Copy Protection”

Apparently SonyBMG was the last of four major labels to remove the copy protection from their music, so now you can go to Amazon or any other site like it and purchase the music you love, then copy it to your iPod or any other mp3 player, as well as burn CDs of it!

I don’t pay much attention to who owns what music with labels and such, but I’m willing to bet that this will free up some crooner music in addition to today’s popular stuff. I’m pretty excited… what’s next, an ease-up on LimeWire? ;)
