After watching that clip from the 1981 Tony Awards yesterday, I have to say that I think I prefer the Lena Horne from the 40s, 50s, and 60s more than the Lena Horne of the 80s and thereafter.
I don’t know what it is, something clearer and more pure about her voice, maybe?
Something less overdramatic with […]

I don’t know about you, but I loved “The Wiz”. No, not just because it was the 80’s and I was a huge Michael Jackson fan, but I loved the music as a whole.
Here’s a clip of Lena accepting a special award at the 1981 Tony Awards (before the movie, when it was only on […]

One of Lena Horne’s most famous recordings (and timeless classics) is “Stormy Weather” from the 1943 movie of the same name. This song became her “signature song” much like “My Way” became Frank Sinatra’s.
I’m having a really hard time finding mp3’s of Ms. Horne’s, so I’m afraid that I’ve got to resort to YouTube vids. […]

Okay, so we all know what audio-gasms (otherwise referred to as eargasms) are, don’t we? Well check out these mp3’s of the sexy-smoothness that is Harry Connick, Jr. and you’re sure to find out what I mean!

You know, I’m always wary when a movie comes out with a modern-day actor playing the […]

Okay, so I’m starting Bing Crosby week a day early today. (From now on, Crooner Weeks will start on Mondays.)
Bing sings “Moonlight Becomes You” in the film “Road To Morocco“, featuring Bob Hope, Dorothy Lamour, and Anthony Quinn.
One reviewer says:
“Road to Morocco, number three in the series of breezy comedies teaming Bing Crosby and Bob […]

I know, it appears that I’m on an Alicia Keys kick here lately - maybe I am.
I also know that she’s considered R&B and not a “crooner” type, according to official genre types, but I can’t help it - She’s a crooner to me. Maybe it’s the piano, her voice, I don’t know… whatever it […]

Josh Groban’s voice is simply beautiful, don’t you think? I found out the other night that he and Michael Bublé are very good friends, too! This song is beautiful, and I have to say, I know that it could be taken in any number of ways but I would probably bawl my eyes out if […]
