Andy Williams gets Ella Award for Humanitarian Efforts
”Moon River” singer Andy Williams has been chosen to receive the 17th Ella Award for singers whose musical accomplishments are equaled by their humanitarian efforts.
The Ella Award, named after its first recipient Ella Fitzgerald, has gone previously to other famous crooners like Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne, and Tony Bennett. The award is given by The Society of Singers, and will be awarded during a May 19th gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. You can order the very expensive tickets through the SOS website.
